Reintroduction of Protective Measures

You will be aware that yesterday, Saturday 27 November, the Prime Minister made an announcement that some of the protective measures against Covid 19 will be re-introduced as from Tuesday 30 November. This is a precautionary and temporary measure to help prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid 19 virus, recently identified.

I am sure you will appreciate that within the local community and nationally, the number of positive cases of the Delta variant continues to be concerning. The new variant will pose additional challenges if permitted to spread.

Bearing this in mind, we are introducing the new regulations as from Monday 29 November:

  •  Only one adult to accompany your child to and from school each day.
  • Please refrain from engaging the class-teacher or other adult in charge in conversation either at the beginning or end of the day. We prefer you to telephone or email with any concerns you may have or information you wish to pass on.
  • Face masks must be worn by adults anywhere on school premises. If you are exempt from wearing a mask, please make sure your badge is visible.
  • The one-way system will also be introduced as from tomorrow. That is, you must enter the site via the main pedestrian gates and exit via the gates on the Key Stage 1 Playground.

Please note that additional measures may be introduced by the government over the coming days; dependent upon the rate of infection, hospitalisations and the ability of NHS to cope with increasing numbers. As always we will continue to be guided by official updates and inform you of any changes as soon as reasonably possible.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
