Welcome to Year 6! Following our transition days in the last academic year, the Year 6 team are really looking forward to getting to know every pupil further and make their final year an unforgettable one. Year 6 will be challenging at times and we definitely expect you to give it your all, however, we will also do our best to make it as memorable as possible with lots of exciting experiences too!

PE Information

This year, your child will be doing PE on a Tuesday and Thursday. Ensure that both indoor and outdoor kits are available for both days and please refer to the uniform policy to ensure the correct kit is worn.

Extended Learning

For extended learning, your child will be expected to complete weekly tasks. These will be:

• Reading at home (at least 4 or more times)
• TT Rockstars
• Spelling via Spelling Shed
• A piece of Maths and Reading homework (given each Friday and collected in the following week in order to earn treat).

Theme

Our Autumn term theme is based around the history topic of World War II—entitled ‘We’ll Meet Again’. This topic will be linked to all of our subjects from Reading and Writing, to Art and DT! Please see the curriculum map for more information.

We’ll also be studying the physical features of South America and comparing it to the UK.
